Chuck has more than twenty-two years experience as an innovative and successful leader in the biopharmaceutical field, and he brings to the EMIS board both business acumen and unique perspectives on the healthcare industry.

From February 2006 until joining the EMIS Board, Chuck was Chairman and CEO of Nanotherapeutics, Inc., a privately held corporation focused on the development and application of proprietary drug delivery systems. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Oragenics, a biopharmaceutical firm which he took public on the American Stock Exchange in 2003. Before joining Oragenics, Soponis was President and CEO of USBiomaterials Corporation, a company specializing in health-care products for bone regeneration and dental care.

Soponis was also Associate Deputy Secretary of Commerce in the Carter administration. He received a JD degree with honors from the George Washington University and a bachelors degree from Princeton University.
